How to build a Millionaire Lifestyle Recruitment Business – Part 1

Today I’m going to be covering how to build a one million pound recruitment lifestyle business.

I wanted to discuss this as there’s an increasing number of recruitment business owners building agencies across the UK and across the world. It seems that everyone gets stuck in the same routine of starting up a business; at first it sounds great, they leave their current employment in seek of freedom as an entrepreneur. However, when reality hits, it’s not quite that simple. I’m sure many of already know that when you’re starting your recruitment business it doesn’t always work out how you thought. You imagined a life with lots of money coming in, working your own hours, sitting back watching candidates and clients walk through the door; not quite what you get, is it? No. So, the purpose of this article is to give you a quick ‘heads up’, on some of the key steps to build and scale a million pound recruitment business. We’re going to be covering some of the main areas, and biggest challenges you’ll face as a recruitment business owner.

I think it’s fair to generalise that the number one factor you’re after as a recruitment owner is freedom- the ability to choose your own hours, work when you want and bring in as much money as you want. In order to get that, you need to be the number one authority within your niche market. So the first step is focusing on a niche. There’s a lot of stigma within the recruitment industry about focusing on a niche, whereby agencies claim to operate as a one but remain vague and ambiguous when marketing themselves. It’s easy to fall into this trap, you take one job here, another lead there, and suddenly the niche has diluted into a generic recruitment agency- just like the rest.

Another key problem you might be faced with right now is that you’re working too many hours. This could be due to a lack of structure in your days, uncertainty over the availability of your clients, the uncontrollability of candidates, either reason it’s preventing you from choosing your own hours. To overcome this, the first step you need to take is to build a remote team. This gives you the freedom to step away from your business in terms of day-to-day management- allowing you to focus on what you’re best at. Your most valuable skill is more than likely closing deals with clients and candidates. In order for you to be able to capitalise on your valuable skills, you need to have the clients and candidates ready for you to manage. This is where the Virtual Assistants come in.

Now that you’ve got clients on autopilot, you can start to introduce the next stage of building in an auto-responder, so you’re reaching out to clients 24/7, 365 days a year. That’s what happens in my business, whilst I sleep. When I come into work there are personalised emails going out to my clients, with the VA setting up notifications for me to give them a call or go to a meeting.This is what you need to introduce into your business to maintain your 25 hour week and 6 figure income.
